I've lived in Minnesota all my life, and I still cant believe how fast the weather changes. On Monday I went for a walk wearing a light sweatshirt, Tuesday I went to the gym wearing shorts and flip flops, Wednesday I was outside for hours and it was sunny and like 60 degrees, and today when I woke up there was at least 6 inches of snow. Out come the boots and the mittens and the real coat. Out come the snow brush and ice scraper. When I drove (carefully) through the park today, the same park that was full of crunchy leaves and grass all week, it was one solid mass of white, snow sticking to the trees. I'm not really bothered by winter that much, partly because I have a row of really cute coats in my closet that I love to wear, and partly because I'm just used to it. Seriously, you think Minneapolis weather is bad? Duluth is way worse. I've learned to be a trooper! But the rapid season changes still amaze me and the first snow still takes my breath away. I also wish I had been able to take a picture of the hundreds of geese on the golf course pond, it was absolutely surreal. I can't believe how much I've learned to appreciate the seasons as I've grown up.
Anyway, besides my gym trip, the snow has made for a stay inside sort of day. So...here's what I have to report!
7 random songs that put me in a good mood today: I highly recommend listening to them!
Human by The Killers. I don't really like them, but for some reason I love this song!
November Rain by GNR. It's November. It's precipitating. The guitar solo. Who can resist this 9 minutes of awesome?
The Best Damn Thing by Avril Lavigne. So wrong it's right. I totally wanted to scream "I'm the best damn thing that your eyes have ever seen" while on the treadmill, because I was ALMOST the only person at the gym today. Stupid guy that's ALWAYS at the gym. Sometime I will have my moment to sing!
Animal I Have Become by Three Days Grace. Hey, didn't know I had this song! Catchy in a rock way. Good for running. I was enthused.
I Love My Computer by Bad Religion. I have heard this song approximately 1000 times in my life. I almost miss listening to it on ringback every time I called S. Almost.
Song for Tricia/Princes and Frogs by Superchic(k). This reminded me of you, LL. Someday we'll find our fairy tale instead of used car sale(sman).
Teenage Dirtbag by Wheatus. Middle school. I just want to cry when she asks him to the Iron Maiden concert. I'M A BIG DORK. DON'T JUDGE.
In other news:
Today I applied for 3 jobs, had a wonderful hour long conversation with my Mom (also can't believe how close we've gotten now that I'm not a teenager), ran 3.25 miles, cleaned and did dishes, and refrained from making potatoes. I still made bacon though. I just can't win.
There's a car alarm going off in the parking lot that keeps going off every half hour or so. It's like the alarm is stuck, but that usually only happens when it's 30 below. I'm thoroughly confused.
Yep, my life is a bit boring today. Sorry. Whatev. Really, this post has no purpose. But if I get in the habit of blogging on a regular basis, maybe ideas will start to develop a bit better. Here's to hoping! In the meantime, any topics/advice/feedback would be appreciated! Hope you're enjoying your weekend! :)
